Weather permitting, there’s nothing quite like getting out on the water, and during your stay at Crieff Hydro Hotel, we like to offer you some of the most exciting aquatic activities to get your pulse racing and your adrenaline pumping.
We offer a variety of different water-based activities for all the family, based 20 mins out from the Hotel site on Loch Earn. From group trips to solo sessions, there’s always a fun way to get out and enjoy the beautiful waterside scenery, even if you do end up spending most of your time in the water!
The Tornado is a giant inflatable disc, or ‘biscuit’ as it’s colourfully known, that attaches behind a powerboat. It’s designed for up to three adults, and we recommend the moral support. Because when the driver hits that throttle it’s just you and your friends against a merciless Tornado that has is dead set on throwing you in the water.
Our inflatables are kept 20 minutes from the resort at Loch Earn, and you can hire the boat and driver for 30-minute or one-hour sessions. Or for even longer, if you think you’re tough enough.
Ultimately, the aim is to propel your board off the ‘wake’ and land some jumps. That said, if it’s your first time you should be more than happy with staying upright, and that’s just as much fun for starters.
If you fancy a go, you can hire one of our boats for one, two or more hour sessions. And if you want to stay around the loch afterwards, how about a barbecue? The facilities are all here.
With the size, scale and scenery of Loch Earn to play in, our water-skiing is some of the best around. Whatever your skill level, with this much straight, flat water you can’t fail to learn and improve. We won’t let you.
If you fancy a go, you can hire one of our boats for a 30-minute or full hour session. Skis, ropes and other gear are provided, and as mentioned earlier, the Loch is just a 20-minute drive from the resort. Your driver will also be a water sports instructor, just in case you’d like a few pointers.
Fans of adrenaline, our 5-person Banana Boat awaits. And don’t let the quirky name fool you – it’s one mean giant yellow fruit.
Get kitted up, hang on tight and prepare to be hurled mercilessly around stunning Loch Earn. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. (If you’re brave enough to open your eyes.)
But don’t worry; you’ll be in safe hands. All of our boat drivers are also qualified instructors. You can hire boats and drivers for half-hour or full-hour sessions, and the Banana Boat runs from April to September, weather permitting. (Although let’s be honest; whatever the weather you’re going to get wet.)
